Below are some of the most common questions asked from our guest during the past fifteen years. If I’ve missed any concerns, please email or call, I’m on the phone 8am-8pm, AZ Time, seven days a week.

Sand Storm Adventure: Departs: 8:00 AM return 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM return 4:30 PM

  • Rates: Adults $100; Kids $75 (12 & under) This price is for departures from 'Culver's' in Scottsdale (Shea/101), their map and directions are on our web site, (www.dshummer.com).

  • Resort Pick Up Rates: They start at $125/A, $100/K, please call for resort rates, pick up times, we service all of Scottsdale and most of The Valley. We do require a four person minimum for resort pickup.

  • When Do We Tour: We tour seven days a week, rain or shine, every day of the year. During our summer months (June, July, August, September) we tour “AM’s ONLY”, because of the summer heat, we average 110-115F degrees, 2pm to 6pm is the hottest time of the day!

  • Dress Code/What To Wear: Closed toed shoes, lose comfortable clothing, shorts are fine, sunglasses, and camera, please no sandals, flip flops, or red tutu’s. The Hummers are enclosed during our cool winter months for the ride out/back and for “Night Storm Adventures”, but we go open air once on the trial, tops stay on at all times.

  • The Hummers “ARE NOT” air conditioned.

  • We provide bottled water, soda, ice and coolers.

  • Medical Conditions/Our No No’s: “No” current back/neck surgeries, meaning still under a doctor’s supervision and “NO” pregnancies, no exceptions, sorry.

  • Why Can’t I Book Online: In a world where everything can be booked or sold online, we’re the exception. We have a lot of information to go over with our guest, unique questions and situations and we want to make sure our guest fully understand what we do and what to expect. All reservations are booked/confirmed by phone, email request are just that, the start of giving you and your family/group all the information you need to schedule and plan your adventure with us. If you haven’t given our office a credit card number, our system hasn’t generated a confirmation for you.

  • What Does “Standby” Mean: If we can’t confirm you on the first phone conversation, not enough guest to meet our six person minimum, we’ll put you in our system, on standby, we will call you when we have enough onboard to confirm your tour.

  • Am I “Confirmed”: If you haven’t given our office a credit card number you are not confirmed. Standby is not a confirmation, only when we take your credit card information are you confirmed.

Night Storm Adventure: Departs: 6:30 PM return 10:30 PM

  • Rates: Adult $125. Kids $100. (12-8 years old). This price is for departure from Rock Bottom Grill in Scottsdale (Shea/101) directions (Google Map on our site, www.dshummer.com).

  • Resort Pick Up Rates: They start at $150/A, $125/C, please call for resort pick up rates, pickup time and availability. We service Scottsdale and most of The Valley. We do have a four person minimum for resort pickup.

  • We tour seven nights a week, rain or shine, every night of the year. Departure times are seasonal depending on sunset.

  • Dress Code: Closed toed shoes, please no sandals or flip flops, dress according to the weather, the Hummers are enclosed for the ride to/from the trail, we like to go open air once on the trail. During our winter months, (November-March), it can be cool with temps in the 30-50F.

  • We provide bottled water, soda, ice and coolers.

  • Our Medical/No No’s: Again “NO” current back/neck surgeries, meaning still under a doctor’s current supervision and “NO” pregnancies, sorry, no exceptions!

  • Equipment: All night vision equipment used is ITT GEN 3, each scope is $3K, all adults will have their own scope to use, children twelve and under will share with parent and be supervised by guide. Children twelve and under that show a mature level of experience will be issued their own scope.

  • Due to the special handling of all reservations we do not have a cancellation policy, if we feel the weather conditions are not to our standard/satisfaction to give you the full quality experience, we will make the call to cancel, very rare. We will refund you 100% of all charges.

We seat 10 guests per Hummer; we do offer specials/discounts for families and groups that book the entire Hummer. We ask you arrive at Rock Bottom Grill 10 minutes before tour departure time; this is the time the Hummers will be pulling up in the front parking lot. The address and a Google Map of Rock Bottom Grill are on our web site, www.dshummer.com, for directions and GPS navigation.

We’re a 30 minute drive from Rock Bottom to get to our trailhead, once there your guide will brief and issue the equipment. He will drive the Hummer in the dark, no lights on and you will be four wheeling in the dark with your scope trying to spot wildlife, 90% of our desert wildlife move at night. At the halfway point (3 miles) of the trial, you’re out of the Hummer for 30-40 minutes to experience Raytheon Thermal Scopes, these are $10K full military XP200’s, and they pick up heat signatures of all warm blooded animals and humans up to 500 yards, very cool. We will also be using Celestron “Sky Scouts” for star glazing. After our ground experience, we’re back in the Hummer for another three miles of trail in new "Hella Spotlite System" spotlites. This gives a total new look of the desert as we're spotting wildlife.

Please call for any questions, reservations or if we can help with anything Arizona, we’re on the phone 8AM to 8PM daily, 480.922.0020.

Thank you and God’s Speed in your travels…
